Rooted in storytelling and a commitment to environmental stewardship, I am a multidisciplinary artist working across textile-sculpture, illustration and creative writing.
I create both introspectively and intuitively which allows me to elevate my ‘hobbies’ such as
knitting and songwriting into my professional practice.
My work explores the intersection between ecological values and childhood, drawing on the
imaginative language of folklore as well as children’s illustration and the ways in which this imagery has the power to teach and foster environmental consciousness.
Through soft sculptural forms and tactile materials, I have recently created playful installations that frame nature as a place of safety, curiosity and refuge. These works encourage interaction and aim
to evoke sensory experiences entangled into childhood play, inspired by the ‘forest dens’ we
create as children.
By combining narrative and a sense of shared responsibility/community through my craft, my practice seeks to nurture empathy for the environment and reflect on how early encounters with nature shape our relationship to it.
